The Next Step Dance Company(NSDC) was formed in 2004 and has shown great success since its inception. The company was designed to provide young dancers with a structured, more disciplined study of dance. This intensive dance program allows dancers to focus on technique and offers them more performance opportunities. The well-rounded dance curriculum of NSDC provides dancers with a strong foundation and understanding of the art of dance. The required studies of dance consist of ballet, jazz, contemporary and the choice of tap or hip hop, or both. Studying these forms of dance allows dancers to be extremely versatile and prepares members for the dance world outside of Step-By-Step. One night a week team members attend their company repertory class and the other disciplines must be studied in advanced recreational classes. Extra performing opportunities and student training are the sole purpose for NSDC however our company members do participate in two to three dance competitions per dance season.
Our current NSDC 2015-2016 members are currently preparing their travel plans and performance on board a prestigious cruise ship.
This past spring of 2014, NSDC was asked to perform halftime for the Harlem Globe Trotters at the TD Garden. From this opportunity, The FAM- creators and producers of Ford’s “So Good, The Boston Song” saw our kids perform and asked them to be featured in their latest music video “Beat As One” a tribute to the Boston Marathon.
