Classroom Attire

General Weekly Practice Attire

Dancers of all ages must wear a solid colored leotard, tights, dance shorts, and appropriate dance shoes. There is no specific leotard color or style, however we ask for no patterns or embellishments. Students can add or accessorize with solid colored dance pants, proper dance sweaters, and leg warmers for colder fall/winter months.  Solid color ballet skirts are optional (no tutus or tulle skirts). Male dancers must wear solid colored t-shirts, athletic shorts, joggers or sweatpants and appropriate dance shoes.  

Please label all dance shoes and outerwear once approved by dance instructors. Step By Step is not responsible for lost or stolen items.  Students may not dance on our dance floors in footed tights or socks without wearing the appropriate dance shoes.  Medium to long length hair must be tied back with a hair elastic and pulled away from the face. Hair MUST be in a bun for all teen ballet and pointe classes.

Step By Step makes every effort to select practice gear that is cost effective, however there are instances when purchase of a specific tight/shoe color, brand, and style is required for our performances.
