Making the Leap!

The Next Step Dance Company (NSDC) has shown great success since forming in 2004, participating in exciting events and performance opportunities. NSDC’s well-rounded dance curriculum provides team members with a strong foundation and understanding of the art of dance. NSDC dancers range in age from 7-18, train a minimum of seven hours per week, and are expected to attend additional rehearsals as needed. Additional outside training is organized when possible to include local conventions and private master classes. Our goal for NSDC dancers is to encourage self-esteem, good sportsmanship, time management and responsibility.

Taking the Stage!

The company has positively contributed to the local community through their performances. Headlining Step-By-Step’s Winter Benefit Shows, the team has helped raise over $100,000.00 for multiple charitable organizations over the years. NSDC has showcased their talents outside the studio, making frequent appearances throughout the greater Boston area including Waltham Day, Boston Common Tree Lighting Ceremony, during halftime for the Boston Celtics and as featured performers in music videos and in local showcases.

Extra performing opportunities and student training are the primary purpose for NSDC, however company members participate in one to two dance competitions per dance season. Team members compete in solos, duos, trios, small groups, large groups and ensemble productions. Competition recognition has included: Costume, Concept and Choreography awards, Overall Champions, Studio of Excellence, among others.

Anyone with passion for dance is encouraged to audition. During NSDC auditions, dancers are judged on technical and performance abilities along with their commitment to being part of a team. Join us Friday, June 16th for Next Step Dance Company Auditions 2023 – 2024 season. Children seeking more performance opportunity and an intensive dance program are eligible to attend. The online Audition Registration is now available.

Audition Registration is $40 per student. Please reference the flyer below for your child’s scheduled time based on the grade level they are entering in September.

In addition to the audition process, a mandatory informational meeting for one parent/guardian is required. This meeting will take place at our studio, during our auditions in a separate studio. Parent/Guardians please click the

If your child is interested in auditioning for our Dance Company but unable to attend the in-person audition, please email Company Director, Demetra Chastang at nsdc@stepbystepinc.com for the requirements to submit a video audition. Video files are due back no later than Friday, June 16th at 12:00 p.m
